Leading Audit, Tax and Business Advisory firm BDO has today announced significant new appointments by welcoming three new partners to the partnership and appointing 21 other staff to their Limerick office. The 24 new colleagues will join the Michael Street based firm to make a total of over 80 advisors and clerical staff.
The three new partners in Limerick will lead teams in Audit and Tax and bring with them a wealth of experience to BDO’s current offering. Liam Hession (Audit), Ken Kilmartin (Audit) and Pat Sheehan (Tax) have between them over 40 years’ experience advising the business community in Munster.
The expansion will also see BDO’s Dublin office appoint four new partners and a national increase of over 20% in staff which now number over 320. This move marks out BDO as the largest Audit and Tax advisor in the Limerick area.

BDO today also announced that it will be expanding its Rescue & Recovery and its Corporate Finance offerings with two of the most respected practitioners in Ireland, Brian McEnery and Con Quigley joining as partners and further enhancing the nationwide team. Brian and Con bring with them extensive national experience to add to BDO’s existing team of experts in these areas. Quigley has built a significant reputation specifically in his work within large corporate finance advisory projects and independent/statutory investigations and McEnery brings to the partnership over 15 years experience in all areas of Rescue and Recovery work right across Ireland and specialist advisory work particularly in the area of healthcare.
In addition, 15 new positions at BDO will be created over the coming 18 months with the launch of a dedicated Risk and Advisory service. This division will be headed up by Partner Brían Gartlan. Brían joins BDO with over 15 years experience advising some of Ireland’s leading companies on risk issues and internal audit.
In a further development, Evin McLoughlin has been appointed as partner in the consultancy division of BDO Ireland, bringing with him over a decade of experience in the education, healthcare and telecoms sectors.

Today’s expansion announcement brings the total number of BDO’s partners in Ireland to 33 and a total staff number of over 320.
